A Few Words About Us

The Arun Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing social development and uplifting the marginalized communities of Bangladesh. Inspired by the life and values of its namesake, a freedom fighter who devoted his post-war life to serving the people of Sirajganj, the Foundation carries forward his legacy of compassion, humility, and community service. Our mission is to contribute to an inclusive, independent, and prosperous "Golden Bangladesh" by addressing critical needs and fostering long-term change.

Our initiatives include health-focused programs like vaccination drives and free eye screening camps for children, as well as sanitation and awareness campaigns aimed at improving community hygiene and preventing diseases. We also prioritize cultural enrichment and youth development, hosting annual events like the Badminton Tournament and implementing educational and sports distribution programs to support holistic growth.

In times of crisis, the Arun Foundation stands ready to provide immediate relief and long-term recovery support through our humanitarian initiatives. We actively engage with local communities and stakeholders to plan and execute impactful programs, from flood relief and COVID rehabilitation efforts to environmental campaigns aimed at preserving our natural resources.

Driven by the spirit of Arun, the Foundation aims to contribute to the visible advancement of an independent, prosperous, and inclusive "Golden Bangladesh." Through its diverse programs and initiatives, Arun Foundation seeks to create a just and equitable society, transforming the lives of those who are marginalized, distressed, or in need.

Arun Foundation History

The Arun Foundation was established to honor Arun, a freedom fighter who dedicated his post-war life to community development, social justice, and uplifting the marginalized in Sirajganj. Inspired by his enduring legacy of compassion, humility, and commitment, the Foundation works towards building an inclusive and prosperous Bangladesh where every individual has the opportunity to thrive.

Since 2018, we’ve undertaken various impactful initiatives aimed at empowering vulnerable communities and fostering sustainable development. We began with a comprehensive humanitarian program to support crisis-affected areas and expanded our focus to education, cultural preservation, and youth engagement through initiatives like the "Cultural Enhancement Program" and "Educational and Sports Items Distribution."

In 2020, we launched the COVID Rehabilitation Program in Ulipur, Kurigram, addressing immediate needs and facilitating economic recovery. Building on this momentum, in 2021, we extended our humanitarian efforts to further strengthen community resilience.

Our health-focused initiatives include a vaccination drive in 2022 in Sirajganj and a 2023 sanitation program in Shariatpur aimed at improving hygiene practices.

In 2024, we expanded our outreach by implementing a "Dengue Awareness Program" and launching a "Clean Up Program of the World’s Longest Sea Beach" to promote environmental sustainability and engage local communities. Additionally, we organized the "See Better Live Better Free Eye Screening Camp" for children in Shariatpur, addressing vision challenges to enhance educational outcomes. Our commitment to youth development led us to continue our annual "Badminton Tournament," providing a platform for young talents and fostering a sense of community and resilience.

Guided by Arun’s vision, the Foundation remains dedicated to creating a compassionate, inclusive, and empowered "Golden Bangladesh," where progress and prosperity are within everyone’s reach.

The Arun Foundation is registered in 2017 under the the Society Registration Act XXI of 1860. It was founded in the memory of a courageous freedom fighter and social activist Gazi Lutfar Rahman Arun.
